A capability of JUSTE · included in every subscription

Onboarding that adapts to the risk before the work begins.

JUSTE screens first, applies your codified AML policy to determine what due diligence is required, and keeps the rationale, approvals and evidence together in one governed record.

Straightforward clients move quickly. Higher-risk cases trigger the additional questions, evidence and human review your policy requires.

How it runs

From first capture to a defensible onboarding decision.

JUSTE brings screening, identity checks, due diligence, policy rules and approvals into one workflow. The amount of work follows the risk found rather than a one-size-fits-all checklist.

Capture can happen with a staff member at the desk or remotely by link, depending on how your firm works.

Capture the client

Start with an ID at the desk or send a secure intake link when the client is remote. No app installation is required for the client.

0:20

Screening establishes the risk context

Sanctions, PEP, adverse media and other relevant risk factors are assessed before the workflow asks for additional evidence.

2:00

Your policy determines the due-diligence path

The firm’s approved rules determine which checks, questions, evidence and approvals are required for the risk presented.

4:00

The decision and evidence stay together

The screening, identity evidence, policy logic, approvals and final onboarding decision remain linked in one governed record.

Proportionate by design

One workflow, proportionate to the risk found.

Low risk

Simplified due diligence

Where your policy permits a simplified path, the workflow limits the client burden to the checks and evidence actually required.

Medium risk

Customer due diligence

Targeted questions and evidence requests are tied to the specific risk drivers identified, with the workflow staying inside the firm’s approved guardrails.

High risk

Enhanced due diligence

Where enhanced due diligence is required, JUSTE adds the necessary questions and evidence requirements and routes the case for the human review your policy requires.

Guardrails and escalation

Delegation works because policy sets the boundaries.

Designated staff members can carry out onboarding within the scope your firm allows. When the risk crosses a policy threshold, the workflow requires the additional review, evidence or approval defined by the firm.

AI informs; policy governs

AI can recommend a risk level, but the firm’s codified policy determines the applicable control path. Where the two differ, the policy rule is recorded and applied.

Overrides remain attributable

The record keeps the AI assessment, the policy rule, the relevant policy version, the reason for any permitted override and the person who reviewed it.

Escalation follows the rule

Where the policy requires additional review, the file is routed to the appropriate person with the relevant risk context and evidence already attached.

Policy-set decisions cannot be changed silently

Changing a classification set by policy requires a recorded review, so the final outcome retains the reasoning behind it.

KYB

Companies are structures, not names.

Onboarding a corporate client means understanding the entity, the people behind it and the relationships between them. JUSTE keeps that structure, the screenings and the final decision together in one governed record.

Company verification — Registry details and status brought into the onboarding record.
Beneficial ownership — Ultimate owners identified and screened alongside the entity.
Directors and representatives — Relevant individuals acting for the company checked in their own right.
Control structure — Ownership and control relationships retained so the record can be understood later.
Proportionate paths — The same policy-governed due-diligence logic can be applied to corporate clients.
One record — The structure, screenings, approvals and decision held together rather than scattered across separate files.

Questions

What firms ask about onboarding.

What does the client actually have to do?

That depends on the risk and the capture method. A staff member can capture an ID at the desk, or the client can complete intake remotely by link. The workflow only asks for the additional questions and evidence your policy requires.

Who in our firm can run onboarding?

Designated staff members can carry out onboarding within the scope your firm allows. Codified policy guardrails determine when extra evidence, approval or escalation is required.

Can the client do it themselves instead?

Yes. Send a link and they complete intake on their own phone, without installing anything. Firms typically use desk capture when the client is present and a link when they are not.

What happens with a high-risk client?

Where your policy requires enhanced due diligence or specialist review, JUSTE routes the case with the relevant screening results, policy rule and evidence already attached for human review.

What does KYB cover?

Company verification, ultimate beneficial owners, directors and representatives, and the control structure, with each relevant person screened and the whole thing recorded as one governed decision.

Does this work for existing clients too?

Yes. Periodic review and re-onboarding can run through the same policy-governed workflow, so the current decision and supporting evidence remain traceable.

The independent expert layer

Credentialed expertise shouldn’t end in a PDF.

Complex ownership, higher-risk jurisdictions and Enhanced Due Diligence can require deeper judgement. Where you choose to use one, an independent ACAMS-accredited expert can support individual cases or review the policy framework that governs onboarding.

Independent

Accredited review

An ACAMS-accredited AML expert can review your risk logic, challenge assumptions and provide an independent view using their own professional judgement.

Reachable

EDD when it’s needed

For high-risk cases, source-of-funds work or a difficult classification, the same expert can be engaged on the individual matter — expertise your team can reach for without carrying it full-time.

Familiar

Continuity when questions come

If the same expert has already reviewed your framework, they can support you with useful context when an audit or supervisor raises questions.

Arm’s length

No commission, ever

You engage and pay the expert directly. JUSTE does not intermediate the engagement or take a commission.
